Climate Resilient

Climate resilient development

Building climate-resilient infrastructure, industries and cities

We help governments, industries, asset owners and investors understand climate risks, prioritise adaptation measures and develop finance-ready resilience projects that protect assets, operations and communities.
The challenge

Climate change is increasing physical risks to infrastructure, buildings, industries, cities and communities. Rising temperatures, extreme weather, changing rainfall patterns and growing cooling demand are placing increasing pressure on assets, energy systems, critical infrastructure and operational continuity.

Organisations also face transition risks linked to evolving policies, technologies, markets and investor expectations. Yet climate risks and vulnerabilities are still too often considered separately from operational planning, infrastructure development and investment decisions.

Building resilience requires an integrated approach: assess climate risks and vulnerabilities, prioritise adaptation measures, develop technically credible solutions, mobilise finance and monitor resilience outcomes over time.

Our Climate Resilience approach
  • Climate Risks

    Assess climate risks

Identify and evaluate the physical and transition risks affecting assets, operations, investments,  territories and communities.

Outcomes: clearer exposure profiles, a stronger understanding of vulnerabilities and better-informed decisions.
  • Adaptation

    Plan adaptation

Translate climate-risk findings into practical resilience strategies, adaptation pathways and prioritised actions.

Outcomes: targeted interventions, stronger operational continuity and more resilient infrastructure,  industries and communities.
  • Mobalise Finance

    Mobilise finance

Develop credible adaptation investment plans and strengthen the technical case for financing resilience programmes and projects.

Outcomes: clearly prioritised investments, stronger funding applications and improved access to climate finance.
  • Resilience

    Monitor and strengthen resilience

Track the implementation and performance of resilience measures and adapt strategies as risks, evidence and operating conditions evolve.

Outcomes: measurable progress, greater accountability and continuously improving resilience.

Climate Risks & Vulnerabilities Assessment

We help organisations understand how climate change may affect their assets, infrastructure, operations, investments and communities. Our approach combines climate hazard assessment, vulnerability and risk assessment, physical and transition risk assessment and climate scenario modelling to support better planning and investment decisions. Our work draws on recognised approaches and frameworks including OCARA, ISO 14091 and IFRS S2.

Climate Resilience & Adaptation Planning

We help organisations translate climate-risk and vulnerability findings into practical resilience strategies, adaptation pathways and prioritised investment programmes. Our approach links identified risks with operational priorities, infrastructure planning and investment decisions to determine what needs to change, which interventions should be prioritised and how they can be financed and implemented.

Green Buildings

We help building owners, developers, public authorities and investors improve the energy performance, resource efficiency, thermal comfort and climate resilience of buildings. Our approach combines climate-responsive design, energy efficiency, building-services engineering, HVAC optimisation, renewable energy and green building certification, including EDGE, for both new developments and existing building portfolios.

Cooling, Cold Chain & District Energy Systems

We help cities, industries, infrastructure owners and investors develop efficient, reliable and climate-resilient cooling, cold-chain and district energy systems. Our approach considers the system as a whole — from cooling demand and energy supply to refrigeration, storage and shared energy systems — to improve efficiency, reliability and continuity under changing climate conditions.Depending on the context, solutions may include efficient cooling and refrigeration systems, cold-storage infrastructure, district cooling, district energy systems, thermal storage and geothermal direct-use applications. The approved text already establishes the technical basis for cooling-demand assessments, district cooling, shared systems and geothermal direct use.

Climate Finance

We help governments, industries, asset owners and investors translate climate risks, adaptation priorities and resilience investments into finance-ready programmes and projects. Our approach connects adaptation investment planning, financial analysis, project structuring and financing strategy to strengthen project viability and mobilise public, private and blended climate finance. Our expertise is supported by specialist credentials in climate risk and valuation, climate adaptation finance and sustainable capital markets, including the CFA Institute Climate Risk, Valuation, and Investing Certificate, the Frankfurt School Certified Expert in Climate Adaptation Finance, and IFC/ICMA Green, Social and Sustainability Bonds Training.
